At some point in my life, I had a picture of a garage with a clean, gleaming car in my mind: A reflection of how I took good care of myself. One of those days, I decided to carry out proper detailing on my car, not just to have a shine; I wanted the very best possible protection from the elements. Serendipitously, I landed with Meguiar’s G18216 Ultimate Liquid Wax. There was so much praise for it; it should deliver an unbelievable shine together with some tough protection. Certainly, I had no clue that this would be entirely earth-shattering.
Saturday morning came shining in bright sunshine and alluring in detail. So, armed with my soapy bucket and microfiber towels, the all-expectant wax from Meguiar was on, hoping for car transformation magic. After washing, I went over the surface with a gentle wipe to clear it of lingering dirt particles. The car glimmered under the sun by now, minus that last touch of shine obtainable only by good quality wax.
After opening a small bottle of Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax on a clean dry car, I was euphoric just by the bottle packaging itself. With the first squirt, thick and rich liquid came out with an amazing scent and look. I poured a small amount onto an applicator pad, constantly reminding myself to apply it thin and evenly, as per directions given by Meguiar. As I worked with the wax on the paint, I was aghast at how effortlessly it glided upon the surface. It turned out to be one of the most satisfying applications ever-the wax almost seemed to hug every contour and arc of the automobile.
I proceeded with the waxing systemically so as to allow me to immediately see where I had put the wax. It was almost like live paint, the light reflecting off it in just the right ways to show freshness to the eye. Hungry to see what that did as a whole, I continued in the very picturesque hypnotized feeling I began in on with the rest of the vehicle. Almost with a conscience, I only allowed myself to stop removing the excess wax, simply in awe of how this stuff continued to show me so much depth and clarity.
With that, the entire car was finally done. I stood back and took a good hard look at it, sparkling and sparkling with the shine that words may never explain. It literally transformed from a mere transportation device into an artistic masterpiece. Now the deep color was way alive, and the surface smooth to resist the temptation of rubbing my hands over.
Meanwhile, in my mind, I had a little bit of this impassive goo of protection against harmful UV rays, dirt, and other road contaminants. After that, I was out for my first drive down the same dusty road with people’s eyes glued to the little wonder. I was so proud- not just of the car but also of that little bottle of wax that did this transformation.
For the next few days, I kept cruising closer to populated areas, showing off the dazzling luster. Just as it gleamed at first, so did the magic of Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax. But instead of just newly waxed shine, it had become an impregnable barrier against dirt sticking on metal. About two weeks later, it was still waxing away, beading water while refusing to collect dirt.
It never failed to keep me true to the principle that maintenance and taking care of my car is paramount. Meguiar’s definitely taught me to love detailing, making my car look as sharp as possible. It was a huge part of the journey that makes mundane upkeep an experience worthy of a princess.
